INTRODUCTION

Use used to for habits or actions that happened in a period of time in the past, but are no longer happening now:

I used to wear glasses, but now I wear contacts.

It can be translated into Spanish as "solía".

STRUCTURE

    1. AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCES

I used to live in Ica.
She used to own a computer.
They used to sing in the mornings.

    2. NEGATIVE SENTENCES

We didn't use to work at home.
He didn't use to buy carrots.
The dog didn't use to be playful.

    3.  INTERROGATIVE SENTENCES

Did you use to have long hair?
Did he use to smoke a lot?
Did they use to cook sushi?

REMEMBER!

  • Use used to to talk about the past. 
They used to live in a big city.
  • Used to/use to is followed by the base form of a verb. 
The car used to work perfectly.
She didn’t use to get good grades.
  • Use use to in negative statements and questions. 
Did you use to play golf?
He didn’t use to listen to music when we were friends
